Mall of America

After nap time on Sunday of our recent trip to America, we went to the Mall of America to meet up with more cousins, aunts, and uncles. It was a fun visit to an iconic landmark in the Twin Cities.

The Mall is in fact rather overwhelming. Inside the four-story building is a sizable amusement area with roller coaster rides, candy stores, and other carnival-type rides, all themed around Nickelodeon cartoons.

Indoor amusement parks make sense in the frozen north!

We met everyone at Legoland, where Jacob and Lucy whiled away the time building things while the old people talked.

Lots of amazing Lego sculptures you'll never make at home!

Working together, like when they zombify us!

Shortly Jacob was bored and wanted to go for a walk. We walked around looking for a ride that might be fun. Jacob hoped for his old favorite from the Mall in Columbia, a carousel. We found a rather traditional looking carousel on the other side from Legoland and managed to drag some other people on the ride with us.

Longing to ride (or see, in Lucy's case)

With a completed ride, we began to socialize again, which meant returning to Legoland for more distraction. Some of the cousins brought the kids presents which were hidden inside plastic Easter eggs. Lucy was very excited to open them up and see what was inside.

All of the sudden, we realized it was after 6:00 p.m. Jacob began to melt down. He was probably right, because we were all hungry for some dinner. We could agree on no restaurant at the Mall, so we headed back to the house to make some tortellini. After that was a quick snack and bedtime for all. All except me, since I could stay up and watch the season finale of The Walking Dead as it was broadcast! But that's something I already blogged about. More tomorrow...
