The Walking Dead Ep. 313, Arrow on the Doorpost

The Walking Dead Season 3, Episode 13: Arrow on the Doorpost

TV rating

TV-14

ZPAA rating

Teens and up

Gore level

7.0 out of 10--Just a few gristly zombie kills this week, including the unpleasant use of a baseball bat; Glenn's eye is all healed!

Other offensive content

Tense negotiations; dishonesty; shadowy sex scene with no visible nudity; some unpleasant language; whiskey drinking.

How much zombie mythology/content

Nothing new this episode. Though there is a recent article that explains why there are no zombie animals--the comic book artist doesn't like drawing animals!

How much fun

I did laugh a few times but this is more of the heavy drama we expect.

Synopsis & Review

Rick and the Governor meet up to negotiate a settlement. We viewers know that the Governor must have some other scheme and keep waiting for it. The two argue back and forth, with the Governor doing his sly little manipulations to get what he wants. The episode does a great job of keeping the tension high even to the very end of the episode.

Andrea is still trying to sort out where she is with everyone. She arranged for the meeting but is quickly shut out of the discussion. She's a lot less self-assured than in the comics which makes for some good drama. But where will she wind up? The prison? Woodbury? Buried?

Meanwhile, back at the prison, the gang gears up for action. Merle wants to go and kill the Governor, but can he get anyone on his side?
