Another Bike Ride

After the epic trip to the mall, we went on a shorter family bike ride the next weekend. Our destination was a local Panera Bread.

The shop is south of us on Route 1, but we wanted to avoid high traffic if we could. Google maps provided a back route that led us past one of our favorite libraries.

The "dinosaur" library--not reopened yet

We biked through a lot of apartment complexes on the way. My oldest son was happy because he likes to scope out apartments and condos. Not that he wants to move out. He just likes seeing different layouts of living areas, even from outside.

Panera was empty inside but doing a good curbside business. We sat outside.

The shopping center has a geocache that we couldn't find. It was somewhere around here...

O geocache, where art thou?

The shopping plaza next door has a geocache that we could find.

Success!

We rode back north on Route 1, which does have sidewalks which are not in the best shape. We turned onto Main Street in Laurel, planning to travel the river path. A lot of the stores look like they've been there forever.

I always wanted to shop here but don't know what I would shop for

The entrance to the park is not too obvious, which makes it nicely uncrowded, even on a sunny Sunday morning.

The Patuxent River runs nearby. Plenty of dirt paths lead to the water. We went to a spot to throw rocks in (and throw across the river to hit the other county).

We got home and discovered the bike rack for our new car had been delivered. With the ability to tote all the bikes on the car, we are sure to have even more distant adventures in the future!
