From the book
Bravetart, we tried out homemade English muffins! The
book provides a lot of recipes with a history of the item being made.
English muffins were popular a long time ago when a baker would make
them and then take to the streets selling his wares door to door. Once
ovens became more common, people made their own and the muffin man went
out of business. Nowadays, most Americans buy their English muffins at
the grocery store.
This particular recipe is interesting
because there's no kneading and no oven either! They are cooked on the
griddle and turned out really well for us.
