This summer's Vacation Bible School was another fabulous experience. Like many other churches this year, the theme was an African safari called "Roar." The company
Group makes VBS programs for Protestant denominations and
Our Sunday Visitor adapts them as "Totally Catholic VBS." Not everything gets shipped in from a company, though. Our church's community is awesome about decorating the parish school for the program.

As in previous years, a representative from a local nature conservancy brought in animals each day, including turtles, tortoises, birds, and snakes.

The crafts were also a lot of fun. The kids built catapult to throw their concerns to God, spinners that show God's constancy amid change, and other fun items.

For the adults to do some crafting at home, the organizers were generous enough to give each of us an African serving spoon.
