More pictures that didn't make their own blog post...
We went to our parish picnic in early September and the only pictures I took were of the scout troop's rope bridge!
The picnic did have awesome food and music, as well as a ton of desserts. Yum!
Our back yard garden was a bit of a failure this year. The best thing that grew was a pumpkin out of our compost heap! I guess some seeds made it in there last year and managed to germinate. We haven't decided what to do with it. Halloween is so far away (though you wouldn't know it by the stores).
My youngest joined a tee-ball team which had picture day on the first game day. Tee-ball games are not quite the same as baseball games. Each kid bats off a tee and runs to first base. The other team tries to field the ball and throw it to first base. The runner is never called out, typically because the ball never makes it to the bag before the runner, even if the runner has a semicircular path to first base. The last batter on the team hits a grand slam, regardless of how good the hit is. All the kids run to home, most of the time tagging the other bases before going to home plate. The kids are learning the basic flow of the game and what the positions are and having fun, which is a tough combo to execute. We've done well so far.
