Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park, 8th Day of UK Christmas

Our first attempt to go to the Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park was a bit of a disappointment. The morning was gray and drizzly, not really Christmas weather. It meant that the outdoor ice skating, the snowflake maze, and the enchanted forest had no appeal. They also have a ferris wheel that didn't look like fun on a cold, cloudy day.

We went inside the Woodland Cafe to have a snack. We glanced at the Christmas trees for sale but certainly weren't ready to buy one. We saw a cabinet full of leftover fireworks from Guy Fawkes Day.

Jacob wants a tree as tall as me and these don't look like they'll fit the bill.

You can clean up on fireworks this Christmas season!

Santa's Grotto wasn't opening for another 45 minutes. They also had a store full of all sorts of arts and crafts and toys and miscellany. We walked through as slowly as we could, but weren't able to use up enough time. With nothing to do inside or outside, we thought we'd try again another day. Maybe.

The gate was closed, but that didn't dampen Jacob's mood

We did see a festively decorated alligator on our way back to the car.

"Where's my novelty Christmas song?!?"

UPDATE: Time has run out before Christmas to go back and see Santa. Luckily, we saw him already for free at ASDA (and we even got to donate money to charity!).
