My Hero Academia Volume 3 by Kohei Horikoshi
The first year students survive the attack on their school thanks to help from superhero All Might (who is the real target of the attack in the first place). All Might's protege, Midoriya, who has no natural superpowers, is learning how to use All Might's power. All Might has chosen Midoriya to be his successor as the greatest hero in Japan. It isn't long before the students face another challenge, the Sports Festival. Young superpowered individuals have the chance to show off at the festival for the regular heroes in hopes of being hired as sidekicks. Things are all out of balance, however, since the first-year students have been catapulted into the limelight for having survived the villain's attack. Usually the third year students are the big contenders, both to win the games and to get the jobs. This time, it's the first year students looking like contenders.
The story is getting more interesting. The bad guys seem to have some larger scheme of which the attack is only the first part. The good guys aren't fully sorted out yet--which of the students will be the true heroes? Midoriya has some interesting challenges and some nice character development. Since he's the central character, that's pretty important.
