VBS 2019

This summer's Vacation Bible School was another fabulous experience. Like many other churches this year, the theme was an African safari called "Roar." The company Group makes VBS programs for Protestant denominations and Our Sunday Visitor adapts them as "Totally Catholic VBS." Not everything gets shipped in from a company, though. Our church's community is awesome about decorating the parish school for the program.

As in previous years, a representative from a local nature conservancy brought in animals each day, including turtles, tortoises, birds, and snakes.

The crafts were also a lot of fun. The kids built catapult to throw their concerns to God, spinners that show God's constancy amid change, and other fun items.

For the adults to do some crafting at home, the organizers were generous enough to give each of us an African serving spoon.

A gift for the volunteers

The kids loved the outdoor sports, which included soccer and a slip-n-slide on water day.

We had great fun and are sure to come back next year!

See you on the next safari!
