Cusworth Hall and Park

On a recent trip, we stopped off at Cusworth Hall and Park for a little break from driving. It's about ten minutes from the A1(M) and has a fabulous playground and a geocache. There's also the hall (with a museum inside) which we did not go to see, since the playground and the geocache took up all our attention.

The playground is right by the parking lot and has the sort of equipment J and L really love--climbers, slides, see-saws, and balance beams.

While they were playing, I used my new-found geocaching Android app to hunt down LQ:South Yorkshire. Cusworth Hall cache. The cache was on a path about a quarter mile from the hall's lake, which is down a rather steep hill. The find wasn't too hard but the hill might have been a bit too much for the kids.

View from near the cache...hard to see the house, isn't it?

On my way back from the cache I enjoyed seeing the lake and the house. Lots of dog walkers take advantage of the location, which does have nice flat paths once you get to down to them.

It was a fun little stop-over, but we wanted to get on with our travels to other exciting English enclaves.
